New Collector’s Series by Zivana LOEL Featuring Artworks by Cypriot Artist Hambis Tsangaris.

Introducing the Zivana LOEL Collector’s Series in collaboration with the distinguished Cypriot artist Hambis Tsangaris. This series is a celebration of the art of printmaking, Cypriot culture, and tradition, combining the exceptional quality of the spirit with the beautiful creations of the artist. 

The series was presented for the first time, at an event held with great success on Friday 20th October, at the Hambis Municipal Museum of Printmaking in Nicosia.

The limited-edition series consists of three new distinct bottles, printed directly onto glass, featuring a unique tribute to Hambis Tsangaris’ art. Zivana LOEL, known for its authenticity and commitment to quality, has rightfully been recognized as a national product beloved by Cypriots since 1996, as well as an ambassador for Cyprus abroad. The limited series featuring Hambis Tsangaris’ work is another step towards promoting art, culture, and Cyprus’ heritage. Τhe collection is available in selected supermarkets and wine stores.

Laiko Group Donation To Makarios Hospital

Two state-of-the-art GREE air purifiers were delivered to the Pediatric Oncology – Pediatric Hematology Clinic of the Archbishop Makarios III Hospital by the Laiko Group and Masterstar Trading Ltd, exclusive representatives of GREE air conditioners in Cyprus.

The donation was made in collaboration with the Alkinoos Artemiou Foundation, for children with oncological and hematological diseases. The donation is part of Laiko Group’s corporate social responsibility actions of and its wider contribution to society, demonstrating, in practice, support of our fellow human beings and children in particular.

Laiko Group records profits in prolonged difficult conditions

The consolidated results of 2021, but also the general course of recent years, were reviewed by the General Assembly of LAIKO Group held on December 14, 2022.

The Vice-President of the Board of Directors, Mr. Nikos Ioannou, in his speech, underlined that “Amidst the prolonged difficult conditions, we value as very important the fact that our Group, LAIKO Group, managed to maintain its profitability in its entirety. It makes us confident that with hard work, despite the difficult circumstances we found ourselves in, better days will be a reality for us”.

It is noted that in 2021 the Group presented profits after tax of €2,041 million compared to €1,598 million in 2020.

Among the most important achievements of the Group for 2021, special mention was made on the building upgrade and strengthening of the equipment of the factory for the production of snacks and sweets, the launch of LAIKO COFFEE in capsules, the start of the production of the espresso coffee products of the new LUNO series, the launch on the market of the two new wine ranges with the names MORPHES and POLYPHEMUS, the celebration of the 25 years since the production of the first legal Zivania in the history of the Cypriot Distillery of ZIVANA LOEL, as well as the continuous increase of the share of GREE air conditioners in the Cypriot market.

The Vice President of the Group thanked the Board of Directors, the Management Team and all the staff of the Company for the great effort they have put in all this time. At the same time, he thanked the thousands of shareholders for the patience and trust they show in the Board of Directors, but also the thousands of customers who over time embrace and trust the products of the LAIKO Group.

The General Assembly finally elected the new Boards of Directors for the companies of the Group.

Grand opening for new state of the art LOEL Winery

The inauguration of the new LOEL winery in Ayios Silas, Limassol took place on Wednesday 22nd June.

The new facilities, equipped with the latest innovative equipment, can handle the simultaneous production of large industrial quantities as well as micro-vinification of fine grape varieties. The objectives of the new winery are the further study and promotion of Cypriot wines using native grape varieties and the production of high quality products. The opening ceremony was performed by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Mr. Kostas Kadis in the presence of a large number of guests across a wide spectrum of business, politics, local government, the wine industry and wine growers.

In his opening welcome, the General Manager Kyriakos Hatzitofis said, among other things, that ‘for almost 80 years, LOEL has been a protagonist in the history of wine and spirits production in Cyprus.’ At the same time, he said that ‘the company since its creation, has been the most consistent supporter of winegrowers and workers, since LOEL itself is a creation of working class struggles for better conditions for the utilization of their grapes. With the same commitment, LOEL has served Cypriot tradition by highlighting the unique products of our country.’

Guests had the opportunity to taste the new award winning wines and tour the Winery’s new facilities.

LOEL Winery, will present its new wines (MORFES / POLYPHEMUS), the No1 Zivania of Cyprus (ZIVANA LOEL) and the unique in its kind COMMANDARIA ALASIA, at the Prowein Trade Fair in Dusseldorf, Germany (15-17 May 2022). Hall 11/A15. LOEL will be represented at the Trade fair by LAIKO Group Commercial Manager Mr.Pavlos Nicolaides and the Winery Manager Mr.Charalambos Pittakas.
