We are proud to announce that Alasia Commandaria 1984, an exquisite wine with 40 years of aging, has been awarded the highest possible recognition, 3 Stars, at the Great Taste Awards 2025. This is the top accolade given by the judges, once again confirming the outstanding quality and uniqueness of our Commandaria.
Among nearly 14,000 products that entered the competition, Alasia Commandaria 1984 distinguished itself and was ranked among the top 200 products worldwide. Notably, it is the only Cypriot product to achieve all 3 stars in this year’s awards.

SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE COFFEE PRODUCTION UNIT UPGRADE
The company’s Investment Project is funded by the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility under the Grant Scheme for Strengthening Units Engaged in the Processing and/or Marketing of Agricultural Products.
The aim of the project is to modernize the production and packaging unit for traditional and other types of coffee at Laiko Manufacturing & Trading Ltd.
Specifically, over €1,250,000 has been invested to automate and enhance productivity in the coffee department. With the purchase and installation of state-of-the-art machinery, the roasting, grinding, and packaging processes have been significantly upgraded. This applies not only to Laiko’s signature “Golden Coffee” but also to new coffee varieties such as espresso, filter coffee, and the traditional coffee capsule for the innovative Laiko – Raqwa coffee system, another groundbreaking product in the Golden Coffee range.
Through this upgrade, Laiko Manufacturing & Trading Ltd (Laiko Coffee Roastery) is making a decisive step into a new era, addressing the emerging challenges of more specialized coffee varieties.
LOEL, with its rich history in Commandaria production, proudly announces the bottling and release of the rarest Commandaria from its cellar—the 1984 vintage.
This unique wine was crafted back in 1984 with the expertise and knowledge of our winemakers and aged in oak barrels for 35 years. It was then bottled for an additional five years to capture all its exquisite aromas, offering an unparalleled experience to collectors of this prestigious Commandaria and lovers of exceptional wines.
Made from Mavro and Xynisteri grape varieties, this wine boasts a radiant amber color and an aroma of remarkable maturity. It stands as the most distinguished member of the ALASIA family—a family that has accustomed wine enthusiasts to extraordinary Commandarias.
The release of this exceptional Commandaria coincides with two significant milestones in the world of wine: the historic recognition of Cyprus Commandaria 800 years ago at the first recorded medieval wine competition in France in 1224, and the designation of 2024 as the “Year of Gastronomy and Commandaria.”

Introducing the Zivana LOEL Collector’s Series in collaboration with the distinguished Cypriot artist Hambis Tsangaris. This series is a celebration of the art of printmaking, Cypriot culture, and tradition, combining the exceptional quality of the spirit with the beautiful creations of the artist.
The series was presented for the first time, at an event held with great success on Friday 20th October, at the Hambis Municipal Museum of Printmaking in Nicosia.
The limited-edition series consists of three new distinct bottles, printed directly onto glass, featuring a unique tribute to Hambis Tsangaris’ art. Zivana LOEL, known for its authenticity and commitment to quality, has rightfully been recognized as a national product beloved by Cypriots since 1996, as well as an ambassador for Cyprus abroad. The limited series featuring Hambis Tsangaris’ work is another step towards promoting art, culture, and Cyprus’ heritage. Τhe collection is available in selected supermarkets and wine stores.
Two state-of-the-art GREE air purifiers were delivered to the Pediatric Oncology – Pediatric Hematology Clinic of the Archbishop Makarios III Hospital by the Laiko Group and Masterstar Trading Ltd, exclusive representatives of GREE air conditioners in Cyprus.
The donation was made in collaboration with the Alkinoos Artemiou Foundation, for children with oncological and hematological diseases. The donation is part of Laiko Group’s corporate social responsibility actions of and its wider contribution to society, demonstrating, in practice, support of our fellow human beings and children in particular.
The consolidated results of 2021, but also the general course of recent years, were reviewed by the General Assembly of LAIKO Group held on December 14, 2022.
The Vice-President of the Board of Directors, Mr. Nikos Ioannou, in his speech, underlined that “Amidst the prolonged difficult conditions, we value as very important the fact that our Group, LAIKO Group, managed to maintain its profitability in its entirety. It makes us confident that with hard work, despite the difficult circumstances we found ourselves in, better days will be a reality for us”.
It is noted that in 2021 the Group presented profits after tax of €2,041 million compared to €1,598 million in 2020.
Among the most important achievements of the Group for 2021, special mention was made on the building upgrade and strengthening of the equipment of the factory for the production of snacks and sweets, the launch of LAIKO COFFEE in capsules, the start of the production of the espresso coffee products of the new LUNO series, the launch on the market of the two new wine ranges with the names MORPHES and POLYPHEMUS, the celebration of the 25 years since the production of the first legal Zivania in the history of the Cypriot Distillery of ZIVANA LOEL, as well as the continuous increase of the share of GREE air conditioners in the Cypriot market.
The Vice President of the Group thanked the Board of Directors, the Management Team and all the staff of the Company for the great effort they have put in all this time. At the same time, he thanked the thousands of shareholders for the patience and trust they show in the Board of Directors, but also the thousands of customers who over time embrace and trust the products of the LAIKO Group.
The General Assembly finally elected the new Boards of Directors for the companies of the Group.
